Frequently asked questions
- 01At present, we are not seeking additional Trustees. However, as the charity grows, we may expand our board in alignment with our governing document. If you are interested in becoming a Trustee, please let us know and we will contact you when the time is right.
- 02Cows hold a sacred place in Hinduism and are deeply associated with Lord Krishna, who is often depicted as Govinda - the divine cowherd. Sadly, due to economic pressures, many cows in India are abandoned once they stop producing milk, and bullocks are no longer required for farming. Urban development has reduced green spaces, leaving cows to wander streets in search of food and water, often consuming rubbish and contaminated water. In Gokul, the local council has established Kanaha Gaushala which shelters approximately 150–200 stray cows. While land has been provided, funding for adequate feed is insufficient. Our aim is to provide: Nutritious cattle feed (grass, hay, or appropriate silage) twice daily Clean drinking water Through your support, we can help ensure these sacred animals are cared for with dignity.
- 03There are 84 sacred Bethaks associated with Shri Mahaprabhuji. Gokul is especially significant as the birthplace of Pushtimarg and home to three major Bethaks: Govindghat Bethak (First Bethak): The site where Shri Mahaprabhuji performed Brahma Sambandh, marking the spiritual foundation of Pushtimarg. Badi Bethak (Second Bethak): Known as the “Big Seat,” where Shri Mahaprabhuji delivered many profound spiritual discourses. Shaiya Mandir Bethak (Third Bethak): Located within the Shri Dwarkadhish Temple, the place where Shri Mahaprabhuji slept at night. These sacred sites now require restoration and preservation. With your support, we can protect them for future generations, ensuring they remain places of inspiration, learning, and devotion.
- 04Pushtimarg places great importance on spiritual learning, devotion, and selfless service. Supporting education helps preserve its teachings while uplifting families in need. For approximately £600 per year, we can support 15 students by covering travel, accommodation, and meal costs while resident Gurus in Gokul provide Sanskrit education free of charge. Many families in India face extreme poverty, and the high cost of education prevents children from learning—perpetuating generational hardship. We aim to support children from Niskanchan Vaishnav families, enabling education that opens pathways to dignity and opportunity.
- 05Gokul is scared beyond measure, and it holds profound spiritual importance: It is the childhood home of Lord Krishna. It is the spiritual heart of Pushtimarg, where the path of grace was first established through Brahma Sambandh. Devotees from across the world come to Gokul seeking darshan, blessings, and spiritual connection. By focusing our efforts in this one sacred place, we ensure concentrated, meaningful, and transformative impact.
